Transfers on the Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca is the sunniest coast in Spain, with more than three hundred clear days a year. The whole shoreline is served by Alicante Airport, one of the busiest in the country in summer.

The resorts spread out from the airport in two directions, and that is worth keeping in mind. Torrevieja lies to the south, about forty-five minutes away. Benidorm, Altea and Calpe are to the north: Benidorm roughly the same, Calpe an hour.

Benidorm is known for its towers and nightlife, Altea for an old town of white houses and a blue-tiled church dome, Calpe for the Ifach rock rising straight out of the sea. Three resorts half an hour apart and completely different in character.

We are opening routes here - five so far. The price is fixed when you book and does not change because of traffic on the coastal road.

In summer Alicante Airport runs at full stretch, and the queue at the rank at peak arrival times stretches out for a long while. A car booked in advance waits for you in the hall with a name sign regardless of when the plane lands: an hour of waiting is included in the price and we track the flight number ourselves.

The price is per vehicle, not per person, so for four people it works out noticeably better than the train with a change. A child seat is free, just tick it when you book.
