Salvador Dali lived in Portlligat, a fifteen-minute walk from the centre, and his house is now a museum with timed entry that sells out in summer.
The Cap de Creus headland starts just beyond the village: the easternmost point of mainland Spain, a landscape of wind-carved rock with walking trails and a lighthouse restaurant at the end of the road.
