Transfer from Girona Airport to Roses
Roses sits at the top of the Costa Brava, on a bay that faces west, which is why the sunsets there are the thing people photograph. From the airport it is seventy six kilometres, about an hour by road.
By public transport it is a bus into Girona and a second one north, with a wait between them and a timetable that thins outside summer. With luggage after a flight, the change is the part that hurts.

Where you'll arrive

What you'll find in Roses
The bay is wide and shallow, which makes the water calm and the beaches family ground. The town itself is a working port as well as a resort: the fishing fleet comes in during the afternoon and sells at the quayside auction.
Above the town is the Ciutadella, a sixteenth century star fort enclosing the remains of a Greek settlement and a Romanesque monastery inside its walls. It is one of the few places on the coast where three periods sit in the same enclosure.
North of the town the road runs into the Cap de Creus natural park, where the coast turns to bare rock and wind-shaped stone. Cadaques is on the far side of the headland, half an hour away.
Getting there: the options
By bus, changing in Girona or Figueres. Two legs and a wait, and the second service is infrequent outside July and August.
By train to Figueres, then bus. Same shape of problem: the railway does not reach the coast here.
By hire car. Fine, and useful if you plan to explore the Cap de Creus roads, which are worth driving.
By private transfer. An hour from the terminal, door to your address, with the flight tracked if it is late.
Around the bay and the cape
Cadaques is close but slow. It is only about thirty kilometres, over the headland on a winding road, and worth the trip. Allow more time than the distance suggests.
The tramuntana wind is a real thing here. It blows hard from the north for days at a time, mainly in winter and spring. The bay is sheltered; the cape is not.
Empuriabrava is next door, a resort built on a grid of canals with moorings at the houses. Ten minutes along the bay if you want to see it.
The fish auction is late afternoon, when the boats come back, and it is open to watch rather than a private trade event.
Every transfer includes
🔹 Flight tracking. We follow your flight number and move the pickup ourselves if the plane is late. Nothing to tell us, no surcharge.
🔹 60 minutes of free waiting at the airport, counted from landing. At the cruise port it starts when the ship docks, at Sants station when the train arrives.
🔹 Meet & Greet with a name sign in the arrivals hall. Included in Premium, 10 € in Comfort and Van.
🔹 Nothing is charged upfront. The amount is held on your card at booking and charged only when the ride is completed. Until then the money stays with you.
🔹 Child seat at no cost in every vehicle class. Tick the box when booking.
🔹 WhatsApp support around the clock on +34 646 75 15 29, before and during the ride.
🔹 Fixed price per vehicle, no hidden fees. Not per person, and it does not change with traffic, night hours or luggage. Toll roads are shown separately in the booking.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a direct bus from the airport?
No. Public transport means a change in Girona or Figueres, and the connecting service is infrequent outside high summer.
How long is the drive?
About an hour from the terminal to the town.
Can you take us on to Cadaques?
Yes. It is around thirty kilometres over the headland, slower than the distance suggests because of the road. Tell us when booking.
What is there to see besides the beach?
The Ciutadella star fort above the town, with Greek remains and a Romanesque monastery inside the walls, and the Cap de Creus park to the north.
What if our flight is late?
Give us the flight number. We track it and move the pickup, and the free waiting hour counts from the actual landing.
Do you carry child seats?
Yes, free of charge. Add the option when you book.
Is the price per person?
No, per car. The fare covers the vehicle and everyone in it, up to capacity.
Where does the driver meet us?
In the arrivals hall with a sign showing your name.
Can you collect us for the return flight?
Yes. Give the departure time and we set the pickup to allow for the coast road.
Are tolls included?
No. Tolls are not included in the fare and are added if the route uses them.
