PortAventura stands next to Salou on the Costa Daurada: 101 km from Barcelona airport, the drive takes ~1 hr 16 min and runs almost entirely on the AP-7.

What awaits you at PortAventura
Three parks on one site. PortAventura itself with its rides and six themed zones, Ferrari Land and the Caribe Aquatic Park water park. There are combined and multi-day tickets - cheaper than buying them one by one.
Red Force, the tallest and fastest coaster in Europe. It stands in Ferrari Land: 112 metres and 0 to 180 km/h in five seconds. Next to it Shambhala, 76 metres, and Dragon Khan with eight loops - a world record in 1995.
The water park is open only in summer. Caribe runs roughly from late May to September; the other two parks are open all year, but on a reduced schedule in winter. Check the dates before you travel.
The hotels stand right at the entrance. On rates with tickets, entry to PortAventura Park is open on every day of your stay, including arrival and departure days, plus one day at Ferrari Land per person. Many families take a couple of nights so as not to shuttle to the park and back.
Salou a couple of kilometres away. The park stands between Salou and Vila-seca, so the beach and the promenade are close: from Barcelona airport to Salou is 102 km and ~1 hr 9 min.
Reus is closer than Barcelona. If you fly by charter, Reus airport is four times closer: 12 km and ~20 min against 101 km and ~1 hr 16 min. But there are fewer flights, and in winter the choice shrinks sharply.
Tarragona half an hour away. A Roman amphitheatre above the sea and a UNESCO-listed old town - a good day without rides: from the airport 89 km and ~1 hr 7 min.
About the road. From Barcelona airport 101 km, ~1 hr 16 min on the AP-7. In July and August the road to the sea is busy, but the price does not change.
