A state between two countries. The principality lies in the Pyrenees between Spain and France, 468 square kilometres in area. The currency is the euro, but the country is not in the European Union - hence the prices.

Skiing from December to April. Grandvalira is the largest ski area in the Pyrenees, over 200 kilometres of runs. Vallnord is smaller and quieter. In summer the same slopes go to cyclists and hiking trails.

Pas de la Casa on the French border, 48 minutes away. It is a Grandvalira sector, on the Andorran side.
About the road. From Barcelona 198 km, ~2 hr 41 min through the Cadí tunnel. It is a mountain road; chains may be needed in winter.
