What awaits you at the cruise port
The terminals are spread over several kilometres. Large liners berth at Moll Adossat, while smaller ships tie up closer to the city. You cannot walk from one end of the port to the other, and the signs are designed for people who already know where they are going.
Cars do not drive up to the gangway itself. They are allowed onto the quay to drop off or pick up passengers with luggage, but parking is not permitted: the area is guarded and port staff direct the traffic. The driver takes you to your terminal building and helps unload the suitcases.
You name your terminal when you book. Tell us the ship or the terminal number, and the driver will come to exactly that spot. Before pick-up he sends the meeting point to the app chat, so you will not have to hunt for the car around a car park.
Liners arrive early in the morning. Most ships come alongside between five and nine in the morning and sail between five and half past seven in the evening. At these times a queue builds up at the port entrance, and at weekends it can be a long one: it is worth setting off with time to spare.
No public transport goes directly to the terminal. The metro and city buses do not reach the quay, and a port shuttle runs from the Columbus monument for €3.50 one way (September 2026). With luggage for the whole family, that means two changes and a wait in the sun.

How do I get from Barcelona airport to the cruise port without a car?
There is no direct service. You need a train or a bus to the city centre, then the Cruise Bus shuttle to the quay: €3.50 one way or €5 for the day. With suitcases, on sailing day, that is over an hour and two changes.
Can I walk between the terminals at Barcelona cruise port?
No. Moll Adossat is a restricted area of the port guarded by the port police, and there is no pedestrian route between the quays. That is why it is worth naming your terminal exactly when you book.
Is there a transfer back from the cruise port to Barcelona airport after the cruise?
Yes, the return route works the same way: 18 km and ~22 min. The price is calculated separately, on that route's page. The driver meets you at the exit of the terminal building and helps with the luggage.
What if disembarkation from the ship in Barcelona is delayed?
At cruise ports, free waiting time counts from the ship's arrival, not from the pick-up time. Liners disembark passengers in waves, so extra time is already built in.
Is there time to see Barcelona between landing and boarding the ship?
Yes, if you have a few hours: it is about three and a half kilometres from the port to the bottom of La Rambla, with the Gothic Quarter and Barceloneta close by. From the airport to the centre it is 14 km and ~24 min. You can stop off on the way by booking a car with a driver by the hour.
