What awaits you in Salou

Llevant beach. Llevant is the main beach in Salou. It runs along the promenade for almost a kilometre. The sand here is fine and the bottom shelves very gently: you can walk a long way out from the shore and the water will still be knee-deep. With small children that is particularly handy. While the little ones splash about in the shallows, their parents can sit and relax beside them.

Getting around on foot. Salou is an easy town to walk. From most hotels the sea is five minutes away, and a promenade with restaurants and fountains runs the length of the beach. During the day it is quiet, as nearly everyone is down on the sand. In the evening, once the heat drops, both tourists and locals come out onto the promenade, and finding a free table at a restaurant becomes difficult.

When to come. In July and August Salou is crowded and very hot. If you can choose your dates, come in June or September. There are noticeably fewer holidaymakers then, and the sea is warm: by June it has already heated up, and in September it has not yet cooled down. May is good for walking and day trips, but it is usually still too cool for swimming.
