What to know on arrival in Malaga

T1, T2 and T3 form a single terminal area. Terminal T3 opened in March 2010 and, together with the older T1 and T2, makes up one area for passengers. Buses from the airport, except line M-135, stop on floor 0, in the arrivals area.

The C1 commuter train only goes west as far as Fuengirola. The airport has a station on the C1 suburban line: the train takes about 10 minutes to Torremolinos and 34 minutes to the end of the line in Fuengirola. There is no railway further west. Avanza buses run to Marbella and Estepona: they all leave from the same stop by Terminal T3 and go to the bus stations, taking 45 minutes to Marbella and 1 h 15 min to Estepona.

The AP-7 toll points are at Calahonda and San Pedro de Alcántara. The AP-7 motorway from Malaga to Estepona (AUSOL) is tolled, but both toll points are west of Fuengirola. So there are none on the way to Torremolinos and Fuengirola, but there are on the way to Marbella, Puerto Banús and Estepona. From June to September and for 17 days over Easter, a higher rate applies on the AP-7; in 2027 that is from 19 March to 4 April. The official tables show no toll sections on the road to Nerja. Toll roads are not included in the transfer price: you pay the driver back for the toll on the spot, against the receipt. You and the driver decide together which road to take.

Six new Ryanair winter routes. According to Ryanair, from the end of October 2026 to the end of March 2027 the airline flies 82 routes from Malaga. The new ones include Trieste, Venice Marco Polo, Turin, Katowice, Košice and Hamburg. Ryanair has 15 aircraft based at Malaga airport.

Holy Week 2027 runs from 21 to 28 March. In 2027 Palm Sunday falls on 21 March and Easter Sunday on 28 March, and 25 and 26 March are public holidays in Andalusia. If you are flying to Malaga for Holy Week, book your transfer when you buy your tickets.
