What awaits you in Lloret de Mar
Santa Clotilde gardens: book your ticket ahead. From 25 October to 31 January the gardens are open every day from 10:00 to 17:00, with last entry at 16:00. Tickets have to be booked in advance, and an adult ticket costs €6.10. The gardens are closed on 25 December and on 1 and 6 January.
Gardens from 1919 above the sea. Santa Clotilde was designed by the landscape architect Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí. The terraces cover almost 27,000 square metres on the cliff between Sa Boadella cove and Fenals beach, so from here you walk down to the sea.
A main beach 1,630 metres long. Lifeguards are on duty there from 15 May to 15 October, so take care if you swim in winter.
On foot to Tossa along the Camí de Ronda. The coastal path leads from Lloret to Tossa de Mar, about 12 km up and down over the rocks. The tourist office warns that you need to be fit for it, so set off in the morning and take water with you.
November in Lloret, the Sant Romà festival. The town's winter festival falls on 18 November, but the programme runs for most of the month. If you are flying into Girona in November, check the tourist office's events listing.
A castle less than a hundred years old. Castell d'en Plaja on the rock by the beach was built in 1935 as a summer house for the industrialist Narcís Plaja. It is a private residence closed to visitors, and the best view of it is from the promenade.
A maritime museum on the seafront. The route of the MOLL open-air museum starts at the Can Garriga house, and inside the house you learn how Lloret lived from the sea, from coastal trade to voyages to the Americas. In winter the museum is also open on Sundays, from 9:00 to 14:00.
