Getting to Hotel Anabel, Lloret de Mar: which airport to choose
Lloret de Mar sits between two airports. From Barcelona it is 89 km away, from Girona 29 km. The difference in travel time is more than an hour, and the difference in the transfer price is double.
If you have not bought your tickets yet, what follows will help you choose the airport. If you have, we will go through how to get there from each of them.
Which airport to fly into
| Airport | Distance | Travel time | Transfer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Girona (GRO) | 29 km | ~35 min | from €82 |
| Barcelona (BCN) | 89 km | ~1 hr 22 min | from €178 |
Girona is almost three times closer. The road runs along the C-35 and C-63 through the hills of La Selva: no Barcelona traffic and no coastal hairpins.
Barcelona has a different advantage: far more flights land there. Girona is a low-cost base, and from many cities there is simply no direct flight to it.
The advice is simple: before buying your tickets, compare not only the airfare but also the travel time to your destination. The difference between ~1 hr 22 min and ~35 min is an hour and a half of your holiday, one way.
What kind of place it is
Hotel Anabel stands in the centre of Lloret, on Carrer del Poeta Felicia Serra Mont 10. It is a resort hotel with two hundred and thirty-three rooms.
Inside: a heated indoor pool, a spa with sauna and steam room, a hot tub, outdoor pools with loungers. The beach in Lloret is about a ten-minute walk away.

How to get there from each
| Airport | Transfer | Bus | Train | Taxi |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Girona (GRO) | from €82, ~35 min | Sagales 613, 35 min, 12 € | None | On the meter |
| Barcelona (BCN) | from €178, ~1 hr 22 min | Moventis 2, direct | Two changes, ~2.5 hours | On the meter |
Buses. From Girona, Sagales line 613 runs straight to Lloret: 12 € one way, 19 € return, daily, with the timetable matched to Ryanair arrivals. From Barcelona, Moventis line 2 runs through the city to Lloret and on to Tossa, also direct, but the timetable keeps changing - check it before you fly.
Train. There is no railway to Lloret from Girona at all. From Barcelona there is no direct one either: from the airport to Sants station, then Rodalies to Blanes, then a bus. Two changes, about two and a half hours.
Taxi. At the rank outside the terminal at both airports, on the meter. There is no fixed price; you learn the sum at the end of the ride.
The airport in Girona is small: a hundred metres from the arrivals hall to the bus stop, hard to get lost. In Barcelona the walk to the Moventis stop is longer, but both terminals are signposted.
A transfer from Girona costs about the same as two bus tickets for two people, and less than the bus for four.
With late flights the options run out: buses do not cover late arrivals, and hunting for a taxi at night in an unfamiliar airport is not how anyone wants to start a holiday.
What there is in Lloret and nearby
Lloret is the largest resort on the Costa Brava. Three main beaches: Lloret itself in the centre, Fenals behind the headland and Santa Cristina in its cove. Between them run the Camins de Ronda, coastal paths along the cliffs.

In town: the Santa Clotilde gardens on the cliff above the sea, the church of Sant Roma, the Can Garriga maritime museum. For children, the Water World aquapark and karting.
Neighbouring Tossa de Mar is twenty minutes away - a medieval fortress right on the shore, the only one left on the whole Catalan coast.
What to know about the transfer
The driver follows your flight number: if the plane is delayed, the pickup shifts by itself and there is no surcharge. At the airport you get an hour of free waiting from the moment you land - enough for passport control and baggage reclaim.
After you land the driver writes to you and names the exact meeting point. A meet and greet with a sign is a separate option for 10 €; in the Premium class it is included.
Payment is by card in the app. The amount is fixed at booking and does not change. A booking can be cancelled without a penalty up to 24 hours in advance.
You book in the Let's GO app: enter the address and the price appears at once, before you confirm. We work across Catalonia and at eleven other airports in Spain.
