Barcelona Music Festivals: Getting In and Getting Home
Barcelona's big music festivals run from May through September. Primavera Sound takes over Parc del Fòrum, Sónar happens entirely inside Fira Gran Via in l'Hospitalet, and Cruïlla lands at the Fòrum in July. Tens of thousands of people arrive and leave within the same hour, and that's exactly where the trip home falls apart.
Arrival: the drop-off point matters more than the address
Roads around the venues get closed off. Type the venue name into a ride-hailing app and you'll reach the police line. Then it's twenty minutes on foot that you never planned for, in the heat, with a queue at the end.
A driver booked in advance knows the drop-off points along each venue's perimeter. For Parc del Fòrum that means the Diagonal Mar side rather than the seafront; for Fira Gran Via, the Europa Fira approach rather than the main avenue. You step out a few minutes from the entrance, with time to clear security, collect your wristband and find a spot before the evening sets begin.

Departure: the night everyone walks out at once
Primavera Sound finishes around 5 a.m. Sónar carries on until seven in the morning. When fifty thousand people leave one venue at the same moment, the metro is packed and surge pricing is on in every app. The wait for a car stretches past an hour. After fourteen hours on your feet, that hour is the hard part.
With a pickup booked in advance, your driver is already standing at the meeting point, clear of the crush by the exit. A Van seats a group of up to seven, so nobody is left waiting for a second car at four in the morning.

Will my driver meet me at the festival exit? Not at the gates themselves, since those roads are closed during the event. The meeting point sits a 3–5 minute walk from the exit, agreed in advance and visible in the app.

A car for the whole weekend
