Where your driver meets you at Barcelona airport
Landing at Barcelona-El Prat after a long flight is one thing. Finding the person who is supposed to drive you into the city is another. The airport moved 55 million passengers in 2024, and at peak hours the arrivals hall is a wall of people holding signs.
This guide tells you exactly where your driver stands, what happens when your gate changes, and what to do if you cannot spot anyone.
The two terminals are 4 km apart
Barcelona-El Prat has two passenger terminals, and they are not next to each other. A free shuttle bus runs between them, taking 10 to 14 minutes.

Check your boarding pass before you land. If it says T2, walking to T1 to look for your driver will cost you 15 minutes and a bus ride.
Where the driver actually waits
At Terminal 1. Come out of baggage reclaim, pass through the customs doors and you are in the arrivals hall on Level 0. The driver waits in the open central area in front of the exit doors, in sight of the arrivals screens. This is the only public meeting area on that level, so there is nowhere else to look.
At Terminal 2. T2 is split into sections A, B and C, each with its own exit. Most international arrivals land at T2B or T2C. The driver waits directly outside the baggage reclaim exit of the section your flight arrives in, near the information desk.
The section is on your boarding pass. If you are not sure, the app shows the exact meeting point once your flight lands.
How you recognise each other
Three things happen automatically once you book:
Before landing the app shows the driver's name, photo, phone number and the car model with its plate number.
On landing you get a message with a live tracking link showing where the car is.
In the hall the driver is standing at the meeting point, watching the arrivals screen with your flight number on it.
A printed name sign is available as an option: it is included in the Premium class and can be added to Comfort or Van for 10 €. Many travellers skip it, because a photo in the app works just as well and costs nothing.
What happens if your gate or terminal changes
Airlines reassign gates while you are in the air. It happens for weather, for a delayed departure ahead of you, sometimes for no visible reason at all.
The driver tracks your flight number, not your scheduled time. If the aircraft is redirected from T1 to T2, the driver moves to T2. You do not need to call anyone, and there is no charge for the change.
The only case that needs a message from you: if your airline diverts the flight to a different airport entirely, such as Girona or Reus. Then write to support as soon as you know. The booking can be rebuilt for the new airport, and the price is recalculated for the new distance.
How long the driver waits
60 minutes of free waiting from the moment the aircraft lands. Not from the scheduled time, from the actual touchdown.
That window covers the normal sequence: taxiing, the walk through the terminal, passport control, baggage reclaim. At Barcelona the whole chain usually takes 25 to 40 minutes for a Schengen arrival, and up to an hour when passport control is busy.
If you are still inside after 60 minutes, message the driver through the app. Waiting beyond the free hour is charged, but the driver stays.
Practical points that save time
Give your flight number when booking. It is what makes tracking work. Without it, the driver only knows the time you typed in.
Do not leave the arrivals hall. Pickups happen inside the terminal, not in the car park. If you walk outside to look, you and the driver are looking for each other in two different places.
Turn your phone off airplane mode before baggage reclaim. The tracking link arrives while you are waiting for luggage, which is exactly when it is useful.
Message rather than call if you cannot find the driver. The hall is loud, and a message with your position works faster than shouting over the noise.

How will I spot my driver in the crowd? You do not have to. The app shows their photo and the car plate, and a tracking link arrives when you land. If you still cannot see them, message through the app or call support.

Can I cancel if my plans change? A scheduled transfer can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup.
Booking an airport transfer to central Barcelona takes about a minute: the price is fixed at 64 € and does not change with traffic or time of day. Going the other way, from Sants station to the airport, works the same way with 60 minutes of free waiting at the station.
