How to get from Barcelona to Lloret de Mar

Lloret de Mar is the busiest resort of the Costa Brava: three kilometres of beaches, rocky coves and pine trees down to the water. It sits about 75 km from Barcelona and about 90 km from El Prat airport. Here is every way to get there, compared honestly.

Bus

Direct buses to Lloret leave from Estació del Nord roughly every hour; the ride takes about 1h 30m and a ticket is 12-14 EUR. There is no direct bus from the airport: you first need to reach the station (Aerobus + a change), which with suitcases turns into a 2.5-3 hour quest.

Fine if you travel light and are not in a hurry.

Train + bus

The R1 line runs along the coast to Blanes - scenic, but you still switch to a bus for Lloret. In total 2-2.5 hours and two changes with luggage. From the airport it is even longer.

Car rental

Freedom to roam, but: rental from 40-60 EUR a day, parking in Lloret in summer is a sport of its own, and not everyone fancies mountain curves right after a flight.
