Barcelona to Lloret de Mar: bus, train or transfer
Lloret de Mar is the busiest resort on the Costa Brava: three kilometres of beach, rocky coves and pines that run down to the water. From El Prat airport it is 89 km away and the drive takes ~1 hr 22 min. Here are all the ways of getting there, compared honestly.
Bus
Direct buses to Lloret leave from the Estació del Nord coach station roughly once an hour, take about 1 hr 30 min and cost 12-14 €. There is no direct service from the airport: you first have to reach the coach station on the Aerobus, change there, and the whole journey with suitcases stretches to two and a half or even three hours.
It works if you are travelling light and in no hurry.
Train and bus
The R1 train runs along the coast to Blanes, and the ride is a pretty one, but from Blanes to Lloret you still need a bus. Altogether that is two to two and a half hours and two changes with luggage. From the airport it takes even longer, since you have to get into the city first.
Car hire
Your own car gives you freedom of movement, but it comes at a price: from 40-60 € a day, parking in Lloret in summer becomes an occupation in itself, and not everyone wants to take on mountain roads straight after a flight.
