From the cruise terminal it is 59 km, and the drive takes ~57 min. Montserrat is a popular trip from a cruise stop in Barcelona, and the one where public transport lets you down most often: a train to Monistrol, then the rack railway or the cable car, then all the same in reverse, racing the clock.

What awaits you at Montserrat
A monastery in the serrated rocks. The Benedictine abbey has stood here since the eleventh century, on a ledge among the stone towers that gave the mountain its name.
The basilica holds the Virgin of Montserrat, patron saint of Catalonia. The queue to see her can be long in the middle of the day. The boys' choir sings almost every day to a schedule and draws a crowd of its own.
Funiculars take you up to the upper trails and to the hermitage of Sant Joan. Entry to the grounds is free; the museum and the visit to the Virgin have separate tickets.

How long does the driver wait for free?
60 minutes at the airport, railway station and cruise port, counted from landing, train arrival or ship arrival. At other addresses, 15 minutes.
Do I need child seats and how much do they cost?
Seats are mandatory for children 135 cm and under and free in every class. Tick the option when you book.
Can I book a transfer at night?
