Took a long-distance transfer from Barcelona to Valencia with my family. Three people, lots of luggage, and a fixed price that was actually cheaper than the train tickets for all of us. The driver arrived right on time, the car was spacious and comfortable, and we could just relax instead of dealing with stations and connections. Booking through the app was simple and instant. Great value for money.

The famous prawn of Palamós. The town's great pride is the red prawn, Aristeus antennatus, with a bright shell, firm flesh and a rich flavour. It is sold under the Gamba de Palamós quality label, which means its whole journey from the net to the counter follows strict rules on catching, handling and inspection. Since 2013 the fishermen have worked under a fishery management plan: every year fishing stops for a while so that the prawn stocks can recover. And once a year the restaurants of Palamós put the certified prawn on a special menu for a whole month. That month is a good time to try it.
The Fishing Museum. The museum stands right on the fishing quay, and its rooms tell how Palamós has lived from the sea for centuries. From here you can join a tour of the fish auction or go out to sea with local fishermen. The museum runs a cookery studio, Espai del Peix, with workshops and tastings of the fresh catch. Note that from October to April the museum is closed on Mondays.
Beaches and coves. The sandy beaches include Gran beach in the town itself, La Fosca and Castell. The coves of Margarida and S'Alguer are rocky, and people go there for peace and quiet. A coastal path links all the town's beaches and coves, so you can walk from one to the next.
The road from the airport. Most of the way follows the AP-7, which has been toll-free since 2021, and there are no toll sections on the route. There is also a direct Sarfa bus, but it calls at Barcelona Nord bus station and the resorts along the way, so the journey takes about 2 hours 40 minutes. The last bus leaves terminal T1 at 19:55.
Every option with prices and travel times. Operator fares current as of October 2026.
