What awaits you in Cambrils
A working fishing port in the heart of town. The catch is auctioned twice a day: oily fish in the morning, white fish in the afternoon. This is a working port, not a backdrop for tourists.
The food here is better than in the neighbouring towns. Cambrils has two Michelin-starred restaurants, Can Bosch and Rincón de Diego, and dozens of simple places serving fresh fish. The local sauce for seafood is romesco, and every May the town's restaurants hold special days devoted to it.
Long, calm beaches. Nine kilometres of sand, with shallow water near the shore. Regueral beach is closer to the centre, while Vilafortuny and Ardiaca are quieter.
PortAventura is close by. Many people stay in Cambrils and go to the park from here: it is quieter than Salou, and the park is about 14 kilometres away. From Barcelona airport to the park it is 101 km and ~1 hr 17 min.
Parc Samà five kilometres away. A nineteenth-century estate with a pond, palms and birds, and admission is inexpensive. A good place to sit out the midday heat.
