Reus Airport to L'Ampolla

Transfer from Reus Airport to L'Ampolla

L'Ampolla is a small fishing town at the northern edge of the Ebro Delta, and Reus is the nearest airport at sixty three kilometres, about three quarters of an hour by road.

The airport is seasonal, and its bus services are timed to specific flights and run towards the northern resorts rather than south. Getting to L'Ampolla by public transport means going into Reus or Tarragona first and taking a regional train down the coast.

What you'll find in L'Ampolla

It is a working port that happens to have beaches, rather than a resort with a harbour attached. Boats land in the afternoon, the seafront restaurants cook what came in, and the town stays small even in August.

The beaches are a series of small coves and sandy stretches within walking distance of the centre, with shallow calm water. Cala de l'Estany Podrit and Arenal are the main two.

What makes the place unusual is what starts just south of it: the Ebro Delta, three hundred and twenty square kilometres of rice fields, lagoons and sandbars, with flamingos on the water most of the year. L'Ampolla is the quietest base for it.

Getting there: the options

By airport bus. Timed to flights and heading north along the coast, not south towards the delta.

By train. Regional services run down the coast and stop at L'Ampolla, but you have to reach the station in Reus or Tarragona first, which is the awkward part with luggage after a flight.

By hire car. Useful if you plan to explore the delta, where distances between villages are real.

By private transfer. Three quarters of an hour, door to door, with the flight tracked if it is late.

Using L'Ampolla as a base

The delta starts fifteen minutes away. Deltebre, the lagoons and the rice fields are all within half an hour, and the light over the flooded fields in spring is the reason photographers come.

Distances inside the park are larger than they look. The far side of the delta is over an hour from here, so plan two or three stops a day rather than five.

Seafood is the local point. Mussels and oysters are farmed in the bay at Sant Carles de la Rapita and served everywhere along this coast.

Mosquitoes come with the rice fields in summer, especially at dusk. Not a problem in the town, worth thinking about in the park.

Every transfer includes

🔹 Flight tracking. We follow your flight number and move the pickup ourselves if the plane is late. Nothing to tell us, no surcharge.

🔹 60 minutes of free waiting at the airport, counted from landing. At the cruise port it starts when the ship docks, at Sants station when the train arrives.

🔹 Meet & Greet with a name sign in the arrivals hall. Included in Premium, 10 € in Comfort and Van.

🔹 Nothing is charged upfront. The amount is held on your card at booking and charged only when the ride is completed. Until then the money stays with you.

🔹 Child seat at no cost in every vehicle class. Tick the box when booking.

🔹 WhatsApp support around the clock on +34 646 75 15 29, before and during the ride.

🔹 Fixed price per vehicle, no hidden fees. Not per person, and it does not change with traffic, night hours or luggage. Toll roads are shown separately in the booking.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a bus from the airport?

Services are timed to flights and run north along the coast, not south towards the delta.

How long is the drive?

About three quarters of an hour from the terminal to the town.

How far is the delta itself?

Fifteen minutes to the northern edge, half an hour to Deltebre and the lagoons. The far side of the park is over an hour.

Can the driver take us into the delta during the stay?

Yes. Tell us the plan when booking so waiting and internal legs are agreed in advance and the price is known.

Are there flamingos?

Yes, on the Encanyissada and Tancada lagoons most of the year. Binoculars help, they stay well out on the water.

What if our flight is delayed?

Give us the flight number. We track it and move the pickup, and the free waiting hour counts from the actual landing.

Do you carry child seats?

Yes, free of charge. Add the option when you book.

Is the price per person?

No, per car. The fare covers the vehicle and everyone in it, up to capacity.

Can you collect us for the return flight?

Yes, from any address in the town. Give the departure time when booking.

Are tolls included?

No. Tolls are not included in the fare and are added if the route uses them.
