Private transfer from Málaga Airport to Granada

To Granada, city of Moorish palaces

Granada is 138 km from Málaga airport. The city lies in eastern Andalusia, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Until 1492 Granada was the capital of the last Muslim state on the Iberian Peninsula, and its rulers left behind the palaces of the Alhambra on the hill above the River Darro. The drive takes about 1 hour 46 minutes, and the price, from €182, is shown before you book.

01. Flight delayed? The driver waits.

We track your flight and wait 60 minutes free of charge from the moment your plane actually lands.

02. Fixed price, set when you book

Your total is set when you book, and neither night journeys nor traffic will change it.

03. Straight there, no changes

No trains, no buses, no metro with suitcases in tow. Your holiday starts the moment you get in the car.

Prices by class

The price is for the whole car, not per passenger. It is fixed when you book and does not change because of traffic, night hours or a delayed flight.

What awaits you in Granada

No suitcases allowed in the Alhambra. The Patronato de la Alhambra does not allow backpacks, bags or suitcases larger than 40 by 40 centimetres inside the monument. There is a left-luggage office at the Puerta del Vino gate, but it has little room for large bags. So from the airport it makes sense to go to your hotel first: the driver will take you and your luggage to your address in Granada, and you can visit the palaces travelling light.

Your entry time for the Nasrid Palaces is printed on your ticket. The general ticket is valid all day, but you will only be let into the Mexuar, the Comares Palace and the Palace of the Lions at the time shown. Documents are checked at the entrance, so bring your original passport or ID card. If you are heading to the palaces straight from your flight, choose an entry time that leaves enough margin for collecting your luggage and the drive from the airport.

Night visits on Fridays and Saturdays. From 15 October to 31 March the Nasrid Palaces are also open in the evening, on Fridays and Saturdays from 20:00 to 21:30. From 1 April to 14 October night visits run from Tuesday to Saturday, from 22:00 to 23:30. So if you land on a Friday afternoon, you will have time to check in and see the palaces that same evening. In the daytime the Alhambra is open from 8:30 to 18:00 in winter and until 20:00 in summer.

The Albaicín on the UNESCO list since 1994. The Alhambra and the Generalife gardens were inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1984, and ten years later the Albaicín quarter was added. UNESCO describes it as the place where the city began. The medieval layout of narrow streets and small squares has survived here, so car access to the quarter is restricted. If you have rented a place in the Albaicín, ask your hosts which point a car can reach, and enter that address when you book.

The Catholic Monarchs are buried in the Royal Chapel. In the centre of Granada, next to the cathedral, stands the Capilla Real. Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon rest here. In 1492 the Alhambra passed to the royal court, and later the Renaissance Palace of Charles V was built next to the Nasrid palaces. Entry to this palace and to the Alhambra Museum inside it is free.

The road over the Las Pedrizas pass. From the airport the driver will go around Málaga and climb into the mountains to the Las Pedrizas pass. After the pass, the A-92 heads east to Granada, so the whole way is on fast motorways without going into any towns.
