The port that feeds half of Europe. The old town stands on the slope down to the water, stone lanes, and its taverns serve what was unloaded that same morning.
The Cíes Islands - the reason to come. A national park at the mouth of the bay: Rodas beach, with white sand the Guardian once called the best in the world. In summer boats go there from the maritime station, visitor numbers are capped, and the permit is arranged online in advance.
A city on a slope. From the port up to Castro park is a hundred-metre climb - there are the ruins of a fortress and a view over the whole ría. Príncipe street is the main shopping street, and at A Pedra an open-air market still runs, where grandmothers sell oysters at prices that surprise you.
