What to expect in Salou

Llevant beach. This is Salou's main beach. It runs along the promenade for almost a kilometre, the sand is fine, the water is easy to walk into and it stays shallow near the shore. That makes it a relaxed place to bring small children. In summer it gets crowded, so if you only have one day before you sail, come early and grab a spot nearer the water.

Getting around on foot. Salou is an easy town to walk. The promenade runs the length of the beach, with plenty of restaurants and fountains along it. The sea is about five minutes' walk from most hotels.

Getting back to the ship in time. Boarding closes well before the ship sails, and it will not wait for latecomers. When you book your transfer back to the port, tell us what time boarding closes. We will work out when to leave so you are not rushing.

Where will the driver meet me at Tarragona port?

At the official meeting point, Moll de Costa, 7. The port only lets passengers into the cruise terminal, so cars are not allowed onto the quay. A port bus takes passengers from the terminal to the meeting point; it runs while ships are boarding and disembarking.

How long is the drive from Tarragona port to Salou?

~20 min over 14 km in normal conditions. In July, August and at weekends it takes longer: Salou council itself warns of congestion on the way into town.

How long is the free waiting time at Tarragona port?
