Transfer Santiago Airport - Santiago de Compostela
Transfer to your hotel by the cathedral. No changes, fixed price.

To Santiago - the end of the Camino
Santiago de Compostela is 18 km from the airport, and the drive takes ~22 min: a short transfer.
Santiago de Compostela is the end of the Way: you reach the cathedral on foot through the whole old town, and it is worth it. The granite streets of the centre are pedestrian - the driver drops you as close to the hotel as possible and helps with the luggage, which counts for a lot in the Galician rain.
Comfort - up to four people with standard luggage. Van - the choice for families and groups: seven seats, and the boot takes a pushchair, skis or a snowboard alongside the suitcases. Premium - business trips and guests: a higher-class car, Meet & Greet name sign included.

Where you'll arrive

What awaits you in Santiago de Compostela
The end of a road people have walked for a thousand years. Pilgrims have been arriving at this cathedral since the ninth century and still do: several hundred thousand people a year finish the Way of St James on Plaza del Obradoiro, some after eight hundred kilometres. Those arrivals are worth watching even if you came by car.
The old town is granite and arcades. It rains here often enough that the streets were built with covered galleries, and the stone has darkened from it. The whole centre is a World Heritage site: small enough to cross in fifteen minutes and dense enough to get lost in. Rúa do Franco and Rúa da Raíña are taken up by fish bars: percebes, Galician-style octopus, empanada.
Galicia starts here. The rías of the Atlantic coast are an hour's drive to the west, and Finisterre, where medieval Europe believed the world ended, is a hundred kilometres away. The university has been running since 1495 and keeps the city younger than its stones suggest.
Arriving without walking. Not everyone comes on foot. Many fly in to meet family finishing the Way, or to start a shorter stretch from Sarria, and the airport at Lavacolla stands right on the pilgrims' route, a few kilometres before Monte do Gozo and the cathedral. Luggage usually decides it: rucksacks and boots do not fit well in the aisle of a bus.
The road from the airport to the centre takes about twenty minutes.
