What to know on arrival in Santiago
One terminal for all flights. From the plane, passengers go into the arrivals hall on floor 0, where Monbus has an information desk. According to Aena, 3,120,759 passengers passed through Santiago airport in 2025, 2,521,701 of them on domestic flights.
No train, but Monbus buses go to Lugo and Sobrado. There is no railway station at the airport, so passengers leave the terminal by bus. According to Aena, the Monbus line to Lugo stops in Arzúa, Melide and Palas de Rei, and the line to Sobrado runs via Arzúa and Boimorto. Check timetables and tickets on the Monbus website.
AP-9 toll points on the way to A Coruña and Vigo. The AP-9 toll motorway runs between A Coruña, Santiago and Vigo. At the Audasa 2026 rates, a car pays €8.80 from Santiago to A Barcela, €7.55 from Santiago to Pontevedra and €5.05 from Pontevedra to Vigo, while the section from A Barcela to A Coruña is free. Toll roads are not included in the price: you pay the driver back on the spot, against the receipt. You and the driver decide together which road to take.
The runway was renewed in 35 days in spring 2026. While Santiago airport was closed, Aena's contractors replaced the runway surface, electrics and drainage and upgraded the equipment that lets aircraft land in poor visibility. The airport reopened on 28 May 2026.
